Our Ward luau this past weekend was a lot of fun. The kids practiced a few times during the month with "Auntie" (a sister in the ward). She and her husband are actually one of the couples in James' nursery and absolutely loves them. The kids love to call her auntie... Sister Faka'osita is just way too much for toddlers to handle. Anyway.... back to the luau.
They were so cute! We don't have real video camera, we just use the video function on our little point and shoot camera. Hope you enjoy. James is hard to see most of the time. At the beginning of the dance he runs up to get a drink and then returns to finish his dance.
Another couple in our ward are part of an amazing dancing family. The Ahuna O'hana performed dances from various Polynesian islands as well as some Native American dances.
They were fantastic. The night ended with the men in the family doing fire knife dancing.

Wow!! Looks like lots of fun. Kaylie did a great job with the dance.:}
Annette, those photos of the fire show are amazing! Did you use any special setting to get those?
The kids did such a great job on that dance. Lance wants to know when we're gonna do that again.
It so happens that I worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center when the dad, Joe Ahuna, was just learning the fire dance. We worked together on the boat tours and I helped him out a little get ready for his mission to Japan. -- Uncle David
