Our last cesarean section is over now. When it is all said and done it was better than Kaylie's and worse than James'. The surgery was really long due to lots of scar tissue to get through. So what is usually the fastest part of the surgery took "forever"... well it felt like it. Once they did finally get through it all Ryan got the go ahead to get her out!
I suppose he did a good job because it seemed to be the smoothest part of the whole procedure. She cried really good when she came out.
Daddy cut the umbilical cord.
Maja snapped a fast picture of the proud daddy before
the nurses whisked her off to do their thing.

Then Dad brought her over to see her mom while the doctors finished up with the surgery and closed up.

So what's happened in the first two weeks.... it's really almost comical! Everyone in the house (except Lydia) got the flu... Kaylie and James got croup... I got mastitis... Ryan has been on inpatient internal medicine rotation, which means we rarely see him (The kids usually only see him a couple times a week.) Lydia has reflux and a digestive system that is a little underdeveloped. We have medicated the things that need medicated and are getting healthier everyday. The battery died in van while my mom and I were out with the kids. Had a run in with a crazy creeper downtown while we went to get some lunch. (If you haven't heard the story ask someone who has, its really ridiculous.) All of that with postpartum hormones and recovering from major surgery.... I told you it was comical.

Man, it sounds like a lot has gone on. If you ever have a day where you just don't want to cook, let me know I will bring something over. And even if you want me to take Kaylie and James for a few hours as well.
I do need to hear about this crazy story.
Aaron and I were just saying last night we needed to call and see how things were going-but we didn't want to bother you with your mom in town. Sounds like things have been crazy.
Sorry to hear about Lydia's stomach problems (we've been there twice now) and about you and the kids. That sucks.
I'll give you a call this week. Maybe the boys can chat over the computer.
Miss you guys.
Thanks for the update even though you clearly didn't really have time to give it! Crazy. Congrats!
wow, I hope things settle down for you, and that everyone is on the mend. If I can help in any way please let me know.
That's a great attitude you have about it! I hope it gets better for you...let me know if I can help you with anything

I have now told the story only twice. But I was sure to add all emphasis needed. Im so sorry you have had a crappy few weeks! We are praying for you!
Sounds like a busy first few weeks with that little cutie! Congratulations!!! She sure is sweet! I hope everyone is doing much better! It was great to see Ryan when he came through the OR on his rotations! I'm glad things went okay with the c-section. I still think it is a pretty cool story that Ryan got to be so much a part of her delivery!!!
