Happy Birthday Janelle

Today is my sister Janelle's 23rd Birthday! Janelle and I are eighteen months apart and have gotten along better than most sisters most of our lives. When we were small we would spend hours and hours playing together. We would play house, school, church, and well we just did everything together. It may have proved a bit difficult as school years went on and we realized that we didn't have "friends". We didn't know we were supposed to have them. We were friends with each other.

Janelle has been a great sister to all of us siblings. She is a great listener when you need someone to talk to. She is there with an unbias and unjudging heart. Most who know her only as an acquaintance may not believe this, but Janelle can be goofy and silly and if you get her laughing she may get in trouble from Mom for her "incessant giggling". Just kidding that hasn't happened in fifteen years or so.

Our family is huge sports nuts, heck if it wasn't for some high school basketball game somewhere in the back woods of upstate New York none of us would be here. Janelle takes this love of sports to a new level though. Janelle is the loyalist Colorado fan you can find. She has her car radio presets... the AM frequencies that is, to all her favorite sports radio channels. Basketball... Football... Baseball... Hockey... and even a little Soccer (if Cameron is playing) She loves them all!

We were so excited this fall when she married Michael Bennett! Mike compliments her so well and is a great addition in rounding out our family. Their wedding was one of the highlights of the year and turned out beautifully even with a six week engagement!

As she pursues her education I hope she enjoys this time of learning and takes in everything the experience has to offer. She hopes to pursue a career in high school counseling and I know she will do amazing at connecting with the people she comes to know.

My piece of advice to her that I have learned and continue to learn in my short years of life is this:

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Eccl. 3:1
